What is An HDMI Switch?
If you have used up all of the HDMI ports on your TV, an HDMI switch will solve your problem. HDMI switchers will enable you to connect more than one device to a single HDMI input on your display. Once connected, you can change between the inputs connected to the switch from the comfort of your couch.
Without an HDMI switch the only way to change input devices would be to reach benind and manually disconnect and connect the devices in order the change them. This can be very inconvenient -- especially if your equipment is placed in hard to reach areas.
The HDMI switch eliminates the problem all together by allowing you to connect all necessary devices at once and switch between them by just the press of a button.
HDMI Switch Types
An HDMI switch can be found in a few different types - the 3x1 HDMI switch allows you to connect as many as 3 devices to an HDMI input on the television, a 4x1 supports four devices, and so on. We offer a variety of these types of switchers including the following: 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 5x1, 8x1, and 4x2. The highest amount of HDMI devices supported comes with our 8x1 HDMI switch.
What is the 4x2 HDMI Switch?Instead of allowing 4 devices to be connected to only a single display, the 4x2 HDMI switch is designed to share 4 HDMI devices between 2 different displays. It lets you assign any of the 4 devices to either of the displays. It also lets you share the same input on both displays. For example, if you have 2 TVs in different rooms you can show a basketball game on both TVs at the same time, or have the option to show the game on one screen and watch a movie on the other.

IR Remote Control - Remote controller included for easily and convenienttly changing between input devices. In addition, you can program the HDMI switch into most universal remotes.
Longer Cables Runs
The enhanced signal boosters inside our HDMI switchers enable you to use lengthy cables. We suggest using thicker gauge cables for HDMI cables more than 15 feet. Use 24AWG wire for cables between 15 and 30 feet, and 22 gauge wire for anything longer. To be a little more on the safe side, it is recommended to use 22 gauge wire for 25 feet and longer.
